Bridgetown HS Athletics Carnival

I am pleased to provide you with the following details regarding our annual Athletics Carnival for 2021:

Class/Year groups attending:

Years 7-10

Departure location date and time:

Bridgetown High School 9:00am

Return location date and time:

Bridgetown High School 3:05pm

Excursion leader:

Travel details:

Students will arrive at Bridgetown High School by no later than 8:50am. They will then board the bus/es and arrive at Bridgetown Sports Ground. Students will remain at the oval for the entire day. Once presentations have been completed, students who require to catch the bus back to Bridgetown High School will board the Warren Services/Greg Giblett bus and be driven back to Bridgetown High School. The students who catch the Winnejup bus will remain at Bridgetown Sports Ground and board the bus as it stops at the Bridgetown Sports Ground.

Educational purpose of excursion:  The annual Athletics Carnival is an event for all students. The event consists of track, field and novelty events. The event directly relates to the Western Australian Health and Physical Education Curriculum and cross-curriculum capabilities.

Activities:100m, 200m, 400m, 800, 1500m, Shotput, Javelin, Discus, Relays and Novelties

Special clothing or other items required: School uniform is required (house shirt), running shorts, enclosed shoes, hat and water bottle. Students can purchase a sausage sizzle lunch from the Bridgetown HS P&C, pre-ordering and payment is required before Tuesday 23rd November, order forms available from the School Front Office. Otherwise, students are required to bring their own lunch. Also, students are encouraged to bring their own recess and snacks.

If the proposed excursion poses any health risks in addition to those identified in the Student Health Care Summary below, please outline those additional risks, for example, if your child suffers from anaphylaxis there may be risks associated with the provision of meals and storage of an adrenaline auto injector at the appropriate temperature.

Parents are requested to make arrangements with the teacher in charge for the safe keeping and handling of medications prior to the excursion.
