Transitions
In week 9 year 6 students from various primary schools began their journey at Bridgetown High School with transition occurring on Monday and Tuesday. The organisation and behind the scenes work conducted by Mrs Loton was once again exemplary! By all accounts, students had a fabulous two days and staff were most impressed with students. Thank you to all staff who provided transition lessons to ensure a successful days for students.
Fundraisers
We had our final fundraiser for Alannah and Madeline Foundation. The final total was revealed at our last assembly where it was announced that $2000 will go to the foundation and other funds to the school. Well done done to all staff and students who supported this cause.
Farewells
Our Year 10 students commenced their own transition with many attending orientation at Manjimup Senior High School.
This week, we farewelled this year group with their graduation ceremony and dinner. While there is often great excitement about the next part of the journey, do remember to look back and appreciate where you have been. Your time at Bridgetown is special, and you will remember it over the years.
Special thanks to Mrs Bec Hardey who produced an outstanding graduation evening and graduation dinner. Thanks also to those who supported her in this.
We have farewelled the following staff and thank them for their service to Bridgetown High School. From 6 months service for some to 39 years for others, all agree that Bridgetown High School is a special place. These people have all contributed to that, and to them we say thank you.

Thank you to staff, students, alumni and our community for making me so welcome in my time here. For 2020 I will return to Albany, tinged with sadness at making the tough decision not to continue at Bridgetown High School. Having missed key Bridgetown events, like the Blues, due to wanting to see family on the weekend, I wasn’t giving home or school 100%. Both of which deserve that. The new principal for 2020 is Carol Thorsby, who has been principal for 6 years and I am sure you will make her as welcome as you made me.
Thank you, until next time, have a safe and happy holiday with friends, family and loved ones.
Sara Garcia Perlines
Congratulations to the graduating class of 2019.
You have been a fantastic year group and you will be sorely missed.
We wish you the very best for your futures, whatever they may be.

New Principal - Bridgetown High School
Hello Everyone,
I would like to introduce myself as the incoming Principal of Bridgetown High School for 2020. I am really looking forward to returning to the South West after many years in the Kimberley, and am especially pleased to be coming to your school that has a reputation as one that values academic achievement as well as caring for the social and emotional needs of its students. I hope to work closely with staff, students, parents and your School Council and community, to uphold and build on these strengths.
I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the leadership of Sara Garcia-Perlines during the latter part of this year. I know she has had big shoes to fill, and has done this most admirably. I also acknowledge the work of Jo Loton, Rebecca Hardey, and Karen Fox and the greater staff for their hard work and support of Sara and I know you will join in with me by wishing her the very best for her future endeavors.
I am very much looking forward to getting to know everyone, so please feel free to come into the school next year and introduce yourself at any time. I would like to wish everyone all the very best for the Festive Season and hope that everyone has a safe holiday.
Warm Regards
Mrs Carol Thorsby

Well done to everyone who has been voted into these positions. The staff at Bridgetown High School look forward to working together with you to ensure an exciting and fun-filled year ahead.
Using their newfounded forensic skills, year 7 science students became trainee detectives during week 9 so they could analyse this crime scene.
After a lot of fun and hard work, they were able to solve it. But unfortunately they are not able to share their findings until further notice!
The past few weeks have been busy and a lot of fun in the home economics room.
Year 7's have made chocolate weetbix slice with chocolate icing and some chocolate chip and sultana biscuits.
Year 8's have made mini pavlovas with cream and fresh fruit as well as salads with homemade dressing, sticky date puddings with caramel sauce and a no-bake caramel slice.
Year 9/10's have made caramel slice as well as fairy bread blondies, as well as chocolate Swiss rolls and then cute Christmas reindeer treats.
