Here we are at the end of another term and I couldn’t think of a better way to end it than attending Country Week with our BHS team. It was so wonderful to see our students competing in such a warm spirited way; always giving their best, and being gracious in defeat and joyous in victory. The shortened program this year meant that the teams had a very busy schedule on the three days of competition but this didn’t stop the students enjoying the event and giving their best. A huge thank you to Ms Phillips and Ms Reidy-Crofts for their superb organisation; Jo Hardy, Mike Kneale, Ros Meade and Ms Harper for their coaching prowess and help; and also to Dave, our bus driver from Warren Bus Services.
The Country Week event takes a huge amount of effort behind the scenes. A part of this is the support from the staff who remain at school and on this occasion they have given over and above to take extra classes and duties so that the Country Week staff could be away. Many thanks to all who took extra in support of this event, and to Mrs Hardey, Mrs Loton, Mrs Aldridge and Mrs Sinagra who had the job of organising this back at school.
Our Drama students, under the expert tuition of Ms Cullen, were able to show case their drama skills by performing this week not only for students at Bridgetown Primary School, but also at Silver Chain for the seniors in our community. A big thank you to Ms Cullen and those students for performing in public and representing our school in such a positive and giving way.
Term 4 is always a very busy time and one to look forward to. We have a Swimming Carnival and Athletics Carnival planned, Work Place Learning for Year 10’s and of course, our end of year celebrations. Your P&C is catering for breakfasts on the school oval over the weekend of the Blues Festival so if you can lend a hand or donate some breakfast foods, I know they would love to hear from you. Our students will also be performing at the Blues Festival and they are always at the fore front of exhibits at the Bridgetown Show. We have Wagin DHS joining us for a 3-day Career Taster program for Year 9’s which I know will be a great opportunity for all these students. There are certainly some exciting times ahead!
I would like to wish staff, parents and students all the best for a happy and relaxing holiday and thank you all again for your efforts this term.
