Hello again everyone,
Whilst we had a short term in Term 1, this has been an extra long one but I would like to thank our students for their Resilience in continuing to work hard and make the most of the opportunities provided to them by their teachers, this term. I would also like to recognise the efforts of all of our staff who , particularly in the last few weeks, have worked together as a team and covered many relief classes in the absence of colleagues who have been away. This is not easy when reports are due and there are many other tasks that need completing and I know that other staff, students and parents appreciate the effort everyone has shown.
I hope that some parents were amongst those who attended the drama performance on Wednesday evening. I believe it was an outstanding event and so congratulations to Ms Cullen and the drama students on showcasing their work to not only parents but the Year 1’s from BPS – who apparently really loved the show.
I would also like to recognise several of our staff who won’t be with us next semester.
Ms Cave is taking up a position at MSHS for semester two. Thank you, Ms Cave, for your work at our school and also for your tireless efforts with your support of the P and C. We wish you all the best for your new position at Manjimup.
Ms Tizard is also leaving us for the semester as she embarks on a new venture in her life. Thank you for all the expertise you have brought to our Science department Ms Tizard and the extra contributions you have made to the school over many years. We wish you every success for your new business and look forward to seeing you around town and as a relief staff member.
Ms Old has destination Europe in her sights and we wish her happy, safe and exciting travels next semester as she takes some well-earned long service leave. We look forward to seeing her back again in 2025.
Mrs Prout will also not be with us for term 3. We wish her all the best and a speedy recovery.
Parents - Student reports have now been sent out .Please take the time to read through and discuss your students report with them. If staff have indicated that they would like to discuss your child’s progress with you, then please contact them either via the front office or through Connect, to make a time to have this discussion. I know that many of you will have achievements and progress to celebrate with your child.
Take care and best wishes for a safe and happy holiday. I look forward to working with you again next term.
Kind regards
Carol Thorsby
In Science our year 7 students have been testing various bubble solutions, here are a few pics.
BHS P&C House Faction Eco-Action Race
SUN is off to an early start in our Great Faction Eco-Action race. If you want to get some ice-cubes or flames on the tally chart, you don't have to wait until Term 4! Follow these steps:
1) Rinse your 10c containers (remove and recycle lids separately).
2) Take them to the Bridgetown waste depot – grab some green mesh collection bags from the school office to make it easier.
3) Use an empty wheelie bin in the Containers for Change area – it doesn't have to be filled to the brim.
4) Write your faction’s member number on the masking tape label and attach to the bin lid. Masking tape and pens are at the depot already.
ICE – C11445408
FIRE – C11442047
SUN – C11444659
5) You’re done – it’s that easy!
Start collecting and get your faction on the tally chart!
