Year 9s have been reading "The Boy In the Striped Pyjamas". They have analysed narrative conventions and have been participating really well in class discussions. Their most recent assessment was to present a speech on a contextual topic linked to the book. They spoke well, engaging the audience and producing effective visiuals. Nice work!

The Year 10 English students have been reading "To Kill A Mockingbird". They have been analysing character and themes. At the moment they are working on conveying an event from the novel from an alternative perspective and in an alternative text type.
Some are creating newspaper articles and circulars, some are theatrically portraying the event, some are developing news bulletins-TV and radio, others are creating ‘one-pagers’ or re-creating the event in clay miniatures. Very creative!
