CADETS
The year 10 Cadets have resumed the special training program with the local Emergency Services. This week they investigated the use of ropes and other safety equipment at the local SES unit used in Roof Safety Systems. They learnt that the main jobs the local SES unit are involved in are searches for missing people and helping the community when storm damage occurs.
The cadets also got to build a Larkin frame that is used in vertical rescue to cantilever a rescuer and casualty over an edge to make it easier to raise and lower without constantly bashing into the side of a cliff or structure.
