School Captain's Report

It has been a busy term 2 for the student forum. We have been to the GRIP Leadership Conference and spoken at the ANZAC Ceremony, as well as holding many events to raise money for our chosen charity, The McGrath Foundation.

So far, we have held four fundraisers this term. Our first being a cake and slice stall where many delicious treats were sold. Our ‘Winter Knit’ themed free dress day was a huge success and everyone had a lot of fun. Everyone rocked up in their warmest clothes to celebrate the start of a freezing cold ‘Fridgetown’ winter. This year so far we have made a whopping $2536.40 from our fundraisers. Thankyou to everyone who has donated.

A while ago, we held our first meat and gravy roll day. The student forum members were swept off their feet with the amount of interest shown in the day. A massive thanks to Empire Grazing, GS & AE Karafilis and KJ & SM Gardiner for donating the delicious lamb and beef. Also, a special thanks to Big Mike for baking his fabulous rolls. The day was a huge success, and everyone enjoyed the delicious, hot rolls on a cold day. We are looking forward to holding another one soon.

On Wednesday of week 10, we held a soup day. Miss Humby bought pumpkin soup, Miss Cave bought tomato soup and FATS donated pea and ham soup. Everyone enjoyed the delicious soup. A special big thanks to everyone involved, especially Big Mike, for once again, making the bread rolls.

In conjunction with the P&C, the student forum held a dance at the Uniting Church Hall on the Friday of week 10. Our theme was "Fun Ties at Bridgetown" Everyone came wearing their best ties. It was a great turn out with almost 70 students across all years attending. We had a great night and hope to hold another one soon.

There are many other great events coming up, we are in the process of organising a paper plane throwing competition and a dodge ball competition between our school houses. May the best house win!! (Ice).

Thankyou to everyone who has helped us with our fundraisers and thankyou to the P&C for all their contributions.
